Remember Zimbra? Remember Yahoo? They like each other, and they don’t have a better way to express their love than with $350.000.000 in cash.
Zimbra has already raised a lot of money from VC like:
- Benchmarck Parnerns
- Redpoint Ventures
- Accel Capital
- Sumitomo & Duff
- Ackerman & Goodrich
And they also have an extensive list of users, according to TechCrunch more than 6.000.000 mailboxes use Zimbra daily… and that was just before the deal with Comcast that will bring another 12.000.000 users to the service.
This is a really smart move by Yahoo towards the fight for the online office suite. As Michael reports on TechCrunch, It wont be strange that someone, probably Google, will go after Zoho pretty soon.
…and Microsoft? good, thanks.
